When you are presenting at a conference or posting on social media, you are representing our brand and we want to thank you for that. We cannot underestimate the power of brand ambassadors and even more so in periods of change. We want to further build on the strength of our brand ambassadorship in a safe way. More than ever, brand credibility is key and in this regard it is important to only use up to date information when presenting Umicore. And on social media, more than ever, we have to be mindful about the impact of our words. In this regard, we wanted to remind you of a few basic guidelines:
- Remember that you can always seek assistance from your business or site Communications department or Group Communications in case of doubt or questions. They will be happy to provide guidance and support.
- Do not share any confidential or market-sensitive information, including customer or competition information
- When posting, commenting or sharing:
- do so respectfully and with consideration for other parties’ position or feelings and in line with the Umicore values
- be mindful of the impact your words may have on Umicore’s brand and positioning
- When expressing a personal opinion, it is your responsibility to point out that your opinions and views do not represent the views of Umicore (e.g. “The views expressed in this post are mine only and do not reflect the views or position of my employer Umicore”).
- Do not share photos taken on site, without prior authorization
Umicore does not tell you how to use social media accounts in your personal time. However, Umicore always holds the rights to distance itself from opinions and views expressed through the personal social media accounts of its employees.
Keep professional and personal use of social media separate, unless the use of social media platforms are part of your job at Umicore. You are advised to mention in the bio or personal description box of a social media platform that views expressed through your personal account are your own and do not reflect the opinions and views of Umicore.
