The branding guidelines apply to all parts of Umicore but there are variations in some specific cases.
Distribution
Umicore subsidiaries involved in distribution communicate in their respective markets with their own identity. Only the Umicore brand values apply in this case. The subsidiaries concerned are exclusively in the CSM business unit and operate under the names Todini and Palm.
Joint Ventures
Joint ventures are also subjected to the brand values as stated in this chapter, but are only subjected to full application of all the branding guidelines when Umicore has a majority shareholding (>50%). In such cases specific adaptations to the branding guidelines may be made according to the history and status of the joint venture. This applies in particular to Umicore Shokubai (Automotive Catalysts) and to Ögussa and Agosi (Jewelry & Industrial Metals).
When a joint venture later becomes a fully owned part of Umicore, a time-limited transitional phase (maximum 3 years) is made between the joint venture branding and full Umicore branding as in the example of Ordeg (Automotive Catalysts).
Business Groups, Units and Lines
Business Groups, Units and Lines follow the Umicore Group branding. This means the use of the Umicore Group logo and its branding guidelines.
