Rules for creating a website
We changed our website in 2025 to a fresher and more modern look and feel. But the main goal was to improve the consumer’s journey and interaction with our website. Our customers and the external world know us as Umicore and we wanted to reflect this. We went for a more central approach where all Business Units information was available in one main website. Therefore, the following rules have been created:
- Creating BU website isn’t allowed anymore.
- Regional websites are still allowed for now. Creating regional websites should have a precise objective and needs to be approved by Niek Van Lissum.
- It is not allowed to create Umicore websites or webpages with an external supplier for any reason. All requests must go through the Digital team.
Any digital activity that infringe those rules will have to be taken down immediately.
Access to the CMS / Governance
The digital team will now solely handle the main website. The main reason is to keep brand consistency on the entire website and have equal updates regarding all topics. No more access will be given to Umicore colleagues outside of Group Communications & IR. A few exceptions can be made. Please contact Maureen Gryseels for any updates/changes or questions about the website.
How to report a bug
Create a JIRA ticket using the “bugs” category, in order for our developers to have a look quickly and provide feedback in an organized way: https://nocs.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals
If you don’t have an account yet, please create one or contact someone that can create a ticket for you (Niek or Maureen). You need to log in via SSO.
Stay informed at all times
The Digital team posts digital updates, questions or requests, but also more urgent information such as the server downtime in this teams channel. If you are not a member of this channel yet and wish to be able to follow the digital news, please contact Maureen Gryseels.

UTM Tags
It is important to measure the efforts we put in projects and campaigns. That is why we created a new tool that allows us to generate UTM tags inside our URL ‘s, in order to better track the interactions our visitors have with our website.
This tool is also interesting to use when you create a QR code, when adding link into emails/newsletters or when providing links to external collaborators such as an ad in a journal. Read all details in this connect article
Mailcoach – Newsletter tool
We have a new and free email marketing platform available for you to create and send out digital newsletters to your list of contacts, called 'Mailcoach'. This tool will enable us to reach out to our customers, partners, suppliers and job candidates in a more coherent and efficient way. Read all details in this connect article
Use Mailcoach for newsletters
Some of you were using Mailchimp in the past, but it is no longer GDPR compliant. Please use Mailcoach instead.
Add your videos on Umicore Youtube Channel
- Contact Group Communications (Valeria D’Andrea) to provide information and brainstorm together
- Create your video (using an external agency or not) following Umicore guidelines
- Think about subtitles: best option is NOT to have them on the video directly but as a separate svg file. Subtitles are not mandatory if the video is in English.
- Provide the .mp4 video and separate subtitles in svg file if needed to Valeria D’Andrea or Maureen Gryseels. They will upload it on youtube and give you the link.
